Early 20th Century French Still Life, Grapes & Pomegranates, after the Still Life master Jean Siméon Chardin (1699-1779). The original, painted by Chardin in 1763, resides in the Louvre, Paris.

A component of an artists traditional training was to practise and study the technique, colour and composition of the master painters that came before them, artists would spend many days and weeks sitting in museums and galleries, copying these master paintings  to hone their skills and craft.

Oil on canvas, the painting sits in its original French antique wood and composition frame.

Measures including frame: 40cm high, 50cm wide, 5cm deep.
