The essence of a 1950’s day at the beach, so simply and beautifully captured here by Australian artist Leslie Albert Eadward (Bill) Sands 1917-1995.
A self taught artist of Seascapes and Landscapes, he was an active painter in the Mid 20th Century.
Oil on masonite board, signed lower right Sands. He chose to paint on the rough side of the masonite which gives the painting an almost sandy texture.
The painting sits in its original vintage tapered wooden frame with original chippy white paint.
Measures including frame: 34.5cm high, 46cm wide.
Great original condition with some stable aged patina and frame.
