French 18th Century original etching & engraving by the engraver Louis Desplaces (1682-1739), made approximately 1720-1739.
The parallel lines, or ribbing, seen in the paper’s texture is from the 18th century paper making process, where the wet paper pulp was laid out on racks to dry.
Good antique condition, framed behind beautiful ripply antique hand drawn glass in 19th century decorative gilt wood and gesso frame, one small loss to the gesso.
