A Vintage print of Moulin De La Galette by one of the founding fathers of French impressionism Pierre Auguste Renoir (1841-1919).
Famous for his loose brush strokes and depiction of light and movement, Moulin De La Galette captures a moment in time of pure jovility and celebration, groups of everyday Parisians enjoying life at a street side beer garden. The dappled sun, movement, hustle and bustle of life still, evident in this stunning aged print.
The original painting resides in The Lourve, the gallery which Renoir grew up visiting as a young man, where he would visit regularly to study the Old Masters. Shortly before he died in 1919 he visited the Louvre, where his work was now hung alongside the Old Masters he had long admired.
This vintage print is backed with masonite board and is in great condition in its original wooden frame.
Measures including frame: 47cm high, 57cm wide.
