A charming antique Georgian era Silhouette, with finely painted details of the young gentlemans features; his hair, crevat, jacket folds and eyelashes all in intricate brushwork.
The silhouette portrait sits behind its original convex glass with gold metal slip and ebonised wooden frame. The frame has some superficial age cracks, visible only in direct light. The frame also has its original decorative hanging loop.
To the reverse, the original metal pins and paper lining upon which is written the name of the sitter, Robert Maude (?) other indistinct writing, and the date 1804. Initialled lower right R.M.
