This panoramic 1913 Danish view is a stunning capture in time of the evening sky lit up over Heathered fields.

The deep crimson mauve of the Heather is rich and intense, in contrast to the lightness of the dappeled pale sky.

‘Heather’ originates from the English word ‘Hather’ which symbolizes an open field of beautiful flowers. The Heather flower is recognised for its resilience, as it grows and survives on the hilly windswept landscape.

Oil on canvas in its original wooden frame (professionally white washed), the canvas has its original side studding to the stretcher, and could be hung with or without the frame.

Signed and dated lower right 1913.
