‘Old Gums’ by listed Australian artist and member of well known Lindsay family of artists. Only child of artist Percy Lindsay and nephew to Norman Lindsay, Daryl Lindsay and Lionel Lindsay.
Born in Melbourne Victoria, and moving with his family to Sydney at the age of 10yrs old, Peter was trained in art by his artist father before attending post school training at the commercial art college J.S Watkins Art School in Pitt St, Sydney.
He became a successful commercial artist, and painted landscapes in oil and watercolours; as well as being a published cartoonist in magazines such as The Bulletin and the Australian Womens Weekly.
Lindsay enlisted in WW2, where he continued his art practise throughout his deployment, with many of his works during this period depicting the war.

-Awarded a fellowship FRAS by the Royal Art Society of NSW.
