Kangaroo Valley by Harry Emmett (1900-1979)



Kangaroo Valley by the English/Australian landscape artist Harry Emmett (1900-1979).

Born in Staffordshire UK, Emmett trained under the British artist Percy Bradshaw, before emigrating to Sydney in 1948. Inspired by the unique Australian bush, he eventually moved to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, where he took up painting full time.

His painting ‘Katoomba Landscape’ was a finalist in the 1958 AGNSW Wynne Prize, the prestigious award for landscape painting.

Oil on masonite board, signed lower right H.Emmett. Artists label verso, with title ‘Kangaroo Valley’.

The painting sits in its original vintage white wooden frame.

Great original vintage condition and ready to hang.
