Sourced in Paris; from which an easy train ride will take you to the Forest of Fontainebleau, which was the spiritual home and working enclave of what has become known as the Barbizon School of painters, a pioneering group of artists who unshackled themselves from the constraints of the conservative French academy, to paint nature in the realist manner.
The Fontainebleau Forest is particularly known for its wide variety of tree specimens.
