SOLD. Winterscape, Rene De Graeve

A snow covered winters evening captured in oils by the listed French-Belgian artist Rene De Graeve (1901-1957).

Born in Mouscron, Belgium in 1901 and educated in France, Rene De Graeve studied fine art in Lille, France, where he continued to live and work throughout his lifetime.

The Musee des Beaux Arts Lille devoted a retrospective to his careers work in 1967 and the Musee Roybet Fould of Courbevoire paid tribute to him with a 2012 retrospective exhibition.

During his lifetime he was a well known and much loved artist, who’s fine work has been acknowledged with these exhibitions in his home country of France.

Oil on linen canvas, framed in a decorative wooden frame.
