A c1940’s Australian impressionist beachscape by listed artist Alexander Aldridge (1908-1969).
Aldridge was born in Liverpool England; migrated to Australia and studied at the Melbourne Technical College (now RMIT).
He went on to become a senior art teacher at South Melbourne Technical School, and artist/painter of impressionist landscapes, holding several exhibitions of his work between 1846-49 in Melbourne.

Vintage Melbourne framers label verso. The original wooden frame has been professionally stripped back to its natural wood and lightly white washed.
